Winter 2017 Camp Director’s Report
Registering Online is the Real Deal Now
For the past couple years I have utilized a complex online survey type form to gather camper information and get an idea of who was coming that took a good deal of my time throughout the year to create and update and communicate with parents to get all their info and payments. This year I found and have spent the past couple months getting setup an amazing online registration solution that will free me up to focus more time on promotion of camp and hiring summer staff.
CampDoc.com offers more than just telling me who is coming and how to get in touch with them. Designed by camp doctors, nurses and directors, it offers a secure, easy-to-use web-based solution to manage health forms, allergies, medications and illness/injury tracking at camp. In fact CampDoc.com is the leading electronic health record system for camps! CampDoc.com provides instant access to vital medical information, decreases the time and energy spent during initial camper check-in, and reduces risk and liability. Utilizing their secure online platform parents or grandparents will be able to secure a spot for their camper and pay by credit card or e-check. Coupon codes will be available for scholarships or for churches that pay half to give out to their campers, payment plans can be setup for monthly payments from a checking account and you can add a donation of any amount. Once a camper is created you won’t have to enter all their information again to register them for a second camp this year or in the future and you can give other family members access to your campers to pay balances or fill out any part of the health history or medications log. One of the best parts is that it saves things as you go and if you don’t know all the answers or get a phone call while you are filling it out on your phone, nothing is lost. Automated emails get sent reminding you to finish filling everything out and I will be able to view and share lots of reports with Program Coordinators and other staff. As a convenience a travel and emergency medical protection plan is offered that insures up to $500 of camp cost for a $27 fee. The last feature I am going to mention helps you stay connected to your camper while they are at Covenant Point. CampGrams make it easy for you and for me to get mail to the campers while they are here. The cost is less than a stamp and the tokens don’t expire and can be used for anyone at camp.
Don’t forget your Cookie Boxes! Please stop by the camp table at the Presbytery meeting on February 16th to get a Covenant Point Camp and Retreat Center Cookie Box to take back to your church. Inside will be everything you need to promote camp to the people in your church and community. Camp is available for use by any group and anyone can attend our summer camps. There will even be some info about the Disciples of Christ Camps that are expanding their programs at our site this summer. I cannot spread the word without your help, Thank you.
See you at Camp,
Covenant Point Camp and Retreat Center, Director
